Estimated total cost
Per-country estimate, excl. VAT and extra costs that may arise under each country's rules during registration: responding to office actions, oppositions/appeals, registration/grant fees, document translation & legalisation, priority fees... Multiple countries may be optimised via the Madrid System.
How is the cost of international trademark registration calculated?
Unlike a domestic filing, the cost of registering a trademark abroad is calculated per country: each country has its own official (government) fee and service fee, depending on the number of classes of goods/services. You can file directly in each country, or use the Madrid System to designate several countries through a single international application (usually more economical for multiple markets).

Frequently asked questions
What determines the cost of international trademark registration?
Mainly the NUMBER OF COUNTRIES and the NUMBER OF CLASSES of goods/services — each country has its own official fee and service fee. More countries and classes mean a higher total. It does not depend on whether the mark is a word or a figurative mark.
Should I file directly in each country or use the Madrid System?
For one or two countries, direct national filing is common. For many countries at once, the Madrid System (one WIPO application designating several countries) is usually more cost-effective and easier to manage. LTV Law advises the best route for your country list.
Is the estimate a final price?
No. It is an indicative estimate per country (official fee + service fee), excluding VAT and extras (office actions, oppositions, translation/legalisation…). LTV Law provides an exact quote after discussing your specifics.
Which countries does LTV Law cover?
LTV Law handles registration in most major markets (US, EU, China, Japan, Korea, UK, Australia, Canada…) and across ASEAN, through a network of IP agents and the Madrid System. Send your country list to receive a quote.
